I was recently (and very politely) contacted over the RLIH tumblr (here) to remove the post mortem pictures from this blog due to the recent identification of Lyle, and was completely unaware that he had been identified. So thank you to "miss buttons" for alerting me.
The images from this blog have been removed and I will attempt to do so over at the tumblr.

If you're not aware of the case, you can read about it HERE <<
An article online had a quote from the team who identified him: (DNA Doe project)
“We can confirm that one of his grandparents did in fact come from Rio Arriba, New Mexico, where many of his DNA cousins’ families originated.”

The article continues: "His relatives reportedly thought he was still alive but had simply left because he didn’t want to associate with them. His real name has not yet been released at the request of his family, who are finally allowed to grieve some 17 years after his death."
I love your blog♡♡ write more please
ReplyDeleteThanks! Will do!
Delete6/21/18: At this date, can the guy's real name be released? Sad story all around about him being alone in a motel room hundreds of miles from home, and hanging himself. No one should die like that.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know the family don't want to release it at the moment. I'd imagine they're grieving. Yeah, it really is a sad way to go.
DeleteA lot of people have been genuinely affected by and cared very much about this situation. I find it saddening that they(whomever that is) won't release his name but then again, it's the choice of his family ultimately. But If it weren't for the public would that family have the closure they needed?
ReplyDeleteI know it's been awhile but still RIP stranger friend lyle. Sorry, Idk what else to call him-
No disrespect intended. Thank you
I think his family are likely grieving and need some space. In the article linked above they provided the information that he was Hispanic and native American and was estranged from his family because they "didn't think he wanted to associate with them".
