A haunting love

I don't know why this news story touched me, but it did.

I've re-written it the best I can.

On the 21st of January 2017 a brokenhearted teenager knelt down in her rented apartment and hanged herself with a bathroom towel.

She had recently broken up with her boyfriend and couldn’t take being without him. 

Before she committed suicide, she wrote three letters; one to her landlord, apologizing for what she had done, one to her family, and finally one to her ex-boyfriend vowing to haunt him if he did not complete a series of requests.

When she was found, she was wearing a white T shirt with a photograph of herself and her boyfriend printed on the front. In a letter to him, she instructed the young man to show up to her funeral, which would be held in her home, and provided the address and the phone number of a family member.

She had left behind a black T-Shirt matching the one she was found in, and told him that he must sleep in her home on at least the first and last day of the mourning period wearing the shirt- if he neglected to do so, she promised to haunt him day and night for the rest of his life.

The letter read (translated to the best of my abilities)

Mai (boyfriend’s name),

I bet you never thought I’d do something like this, right?

If I keep on living I feel like I’m suffering inside, being this way. It didn’t feel this way before. I love you so much; no one could ever take your place.

 I can’t live without you. By the way, I’m already dead. Now you have to do what I want you to do- If you don’t do what I want you to do, I will haunt you day and night. You have to attend my funeral at my home and the first night you have to wear this black T-shirt that I’ve screened for you.

You also have to sleep at my home on the first and last night. Each night you choose to stay, you must wear the shirt.

090XXXXXXX this is my grandmothers number to locate my house. People in my house call me “Sai” not “Bee” I’m so sorry that I’ve done something like this.

But I can’t live like this.

Thanks for the time we spent together; it showed me how much I loved you. I was happy every moment with you. I love you so much…

Mary the elephant

A picture from the 13th of September 1916, depicting an Asian elephant named Mary, being hanged from a crane in Tennessee. 

Mary was a circus elephant who killed a trainee elephant trainer named Red Eldridge (some say she reacted to being prodded by the assistant with a hooked stick and threw the man off her back.) 

The media reported the story painting the elephant as a blood thirsty killer and sensationalized the ordeal. Those in attendance chanted for Marys execution and got their wish. 

Mary was executed infront of over 2000 paying onlookers.

Tragedy at Santika:

It had been the 1^st of January 2009 for only 35 minutes when tourist and local party goers alike, bringing in the New Year at Club Santika in Watthana, Bangkok, found themselves engulfed in flame and fire.

Only half an hour earlier they had celebrated the count down and danced to the live band, a local covers band ominously name “burn”.

There was only one way out, the main entrance door, and tragically many were trampled in the stampede of customers rushing to escape. Some even passed out before they could attempt to do so, from inhaling the fumes from burning plastic.

Horrifying photos and videos from the scene show the charred bodies of those who were not lucky enough to get out, stretching towards the exit, frozen in a scream.

Although police blamed the lead singer of “Burn” for the incident, claiming that he was using fireworks indoors, witnesses claim that nothing other than sparklers were used that night.

Substandard safety regulations like lack of alternative exits and one only small fire extinguisher present for the entire building, as well as lax attitude to building regulations, contributed to the death toll.

66 people died as a result of the Santika club fire, and 222 were injured.

The letters from the sign on the front of the building were burned away, all but two, the letters “KA”, which, morbidly, is the word for “kill” in Thai.

1.The walking dead of Indonesia.

An Indonesian friend of mine showed me this photo some years ago.

It was titled “The walking dead” or “Zombie” but in actuality this is a photo from a ma-nene ritual in Toraja, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Families exhume their deceased relatives so they can clean them and change their clothing.

They bodies are usually taken on a tour of their town while repairs are made to their coffins.

2.Aokigahara

This is a photo of a decomposed body in Aokigahara, Japan, also known as “The suicide forest”.

It’s infamous for being a suicide hot spot due to the volume of people who travel there to see out their final days.

3.Ghost Soldier

The title says it all really.

This WW1 photograph was taken in 1919 and features the ghost of solider Freddy Jackson, who had died a few days before the picture was taken as a result of an airplane accident.

4.Columbine kids

You’ll definitely have seen this photo.

A '99 class photo, featuring the two gun men of the Columbine school shooting, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, pretending to hold guns in the top left hand corner.

A week later they killed 13 of their classmates and themselves.

5.DOOMED

A man fell on the tracks, this is the last photo of him alive. 

Sad and disturbing that it even went to print. The tabloid unsurprisingly caused controversy.

6.       Blanche Monnier

Locked in a room for 24 years by her own family and fed nothing but scraps, for refusing to marry anyone other than her true love.

7.      Maria Elena Milagro de Hoyos

German-born radiologist Carl Tanzler fell in love with 21-year-old Cuban Maria Elena Milagro de Hoyos after she came to him for an examination.

Tanzler was convinced that this woman was the same dark haired beauty who had been visiting him in his dreams and believed that de Hoyos was his true love.

Unfortunately she died of a rare disease and was buried in a mausoleum.

Tanzler had a key and was visiting the body nightly. Eventually he took the body from the burial site and began to try and reconstruct it with wire and plaster.
The pair even shared a bed before being discovered.

8.      Killer Clown

This photo of Boy killer John Wayne Gacy in his "Pogo the clown" costume.
He managed to cover up being a serial killer well enough to be a highly regarded pillar of society. This is him entertaining children at an event. Creepy.

9.      Not Satanic enough

This is a facebook screen shot of a Thai self-proclaimed Satanist, who killed the lead singer of a metal band / a friend of his for “not being a real Satanist”.

He actually posted updates about his future plans to kill and even posted a photo of his handy work to his Facebook profile.

He continued to update with the press pictures after that, before running away and eventually handing himself over to the cops at the advice of his father. He had stabbed his victim in the face a total of 30 times.

10.  Catacombs girl

I pixelated this one . 

As mentioned in the previous post, this Russian girl was drinking in the tunnels with her friends, wandered off and got lost.

They found her dead body 2 years later. I’ve pixelated the image here.
